Sedus has a rich history of 152 years in the office furniture industry, having produced its first chair in 1871. In 1890, Sedus introduced Europe's first chair with a swiveling and height-adjustable mechanism. Throughout its 152-year history, Sedus has continued to produce office products that combine both engineering and design, inspiring creativity in the workplace.

Made in Germany

Sedus has an advanced production line in its manufacturing facilities in Germany. All processes from woodworking, plastic molding, metalworking, fabric coating to component production are carried out on this line. Sedus sources all of its semi-finished and raw materials from Germany. Manufactures all of its products in its own facilities using its own molds through a single process from raw material to finished product.

Number 1 in Germany

As of 2022, with three factories, close to 1,000 employees, and exporting to more than 70 countries, Sedus is the number one producer in Germany and the sixth largest in Europe.

Durability and Robustness

All Sedus products are tested in European and TÜV-accredited laboratories and then presented to customers. Sedus only uses its own developed and manufactured mechanisms and shock absorbers resulting from German engineering. All components used in the products consist of the highest quality parts. A 5-year warranty period is offered as a standard for all products. In specially developed and manufactured shock absorbers, Sedus can provide a 30-year warranty.

Employee health is one of the top priorities for Sedus.
